The Community We Deserve!
What Erycka is fighting for:
Erycka knows firsthand the struggles many families face, including the high cost of living, skyrocketing rent, and unaffordable childcare. As Trump attacks New York, Erycka knows what it takes to fight back against his cruel and unjust policies on immigration, workers’ rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and our healthcare system. Erycka is focused on forging a better, more vibrant future for our families. By working together, we can solve these issues and transform our city into a more just and equitable place for all.

Affordable Housing Now!
We must keep families in their homes and fight back against unjust and outrageous housing costs by:
Increasing the supply of truly affordable housing, that factors the cost of living and other necessary metrics to truly have affordable rents.
Strengthening rent control and tenant protection laws, while expanding household income eligibility for housing programs, like rent freezes, rental assistance, and legal representation.
Securing support for small homeowners and property owners struggling to pay their mortgages and property taxes.
Quality Of Life & Public Safety
After being overlooked and ignored, Erycka will fight to restore our community by:
Properly funding DSNY and NYC parks for additional cleaning and pickups in our business corridors, public parks, plazas, and areas prone to illegal dumping.
Fighting for additional funding to combat sex and labor trafficking, while demanding accountability & enforcement in the fight against organized and pervasive crime.
Establish a round-the-clock mental health response service with unarmed, trained professionals who can safely and effectively de-escalate crises.
Support For Working Families
New Yorkers deserve to work and live in dignity. Erycka will ensure that we are:
Increasing funding to support and expand Elmhurst Hospital, our two in-district Gotham Health clinics, and the NYC Care insurance program. We will also urge our state elected officials to pass the New York Health Act.
Expanding paid family leave programs eligibility to include independent, freelance, and gig workers.
Implementing cost-of-living reduction measures by creating citywide programs to assist struggling households with additional nutritional benefits, utility bill payments, internet access, and other essential services.
High Quality Education & Affordable Child Care
Unlocking potential, one student at a time by:
Making Universal Childcare for all NYC working families a reality.
Ensuring that every child and family has access to free and high-quality after-school programming.
Providing proper funding for every public school to meet class size requirements and avoid busing our children to schools in other communities.
Protecting Our Immigrant Communities
This city was made by immigrants! Erycka will support our brothers and sisters by:
Expanding access and funding for legal representation, language access, and other related social services, so our new neighbors can feel safe and secure.
Fighting against any attempt to end sanctuary city policies and against forcing city government agencies to carry out civil immigration enforcement.
Creating a citywide Know Your Rights campaign to educate immigrant communities about their rights, including protections against unlawful search, seizure, and deportation.
Improving the MTA
New Yorkers have things to do and places to be. We can do this safely and timely by:
Increasing MTA funding for more frequent bus services and additional routes in East Elmhurst and Corona.
Ensuring the MTA/ADA compliance plan is progressing on time and on budget with works in our district.
Expanding the Fair Fares program and mandating automatic coverage for CUNY students.
Small Business And Local Economic Development
Support small businesses so that they can grow. We will pave the way by:
Establish commercial rent control guidelines to ensure small businesses can afford their rent and remain in our community.
Create more apprenticeship opportunities for neighbors to enter labor unions by partnering with them to establish programs at local high schools and community centers.
Increase funding for entrepreneurship opportunities through incubators, start-ups, and other partnerships like the Queens Chamber, QEDC, and more.
Fighting For Our LGBTQIA+ Neighbors
Our neighbors are being attacked by the current federal administration. We will fight for them:
Provide additional funding for health and gender-affirming care to all ages
Ensure legal resources and support prevent discriminatory practices in the workplace, schools, and healthcare.
Establish a city fund to support workforce development, healthcare, and housing access for our LGBTQIA+ older adults.
Public Spaces for All Ages
Empowering Seniors Every Step. Erycka will work to:
Expand and increase senior-related services such as SCRIE, home health care, home delivery of meals, and others to ensure our seniors can live with dignity.
Support and secure funding so that our older adult centers and other public brick-and-mortar locations like the Lefrak City library, the Lost Battalion recreational center and other community spaces can operate fully and without issues.
Protect and restore our parks and green spaces. Everyone in our community, from young to old, deserves access to quality outdoor spaces. We will invest in necessary upgrades and restorations in every neighborhood.
